SMS Messaging Consent & Opt-In Process

1. What Good Launch Does

Good Launch is a marina management platform operated by Patuxent Holdings, LLC. Marina operators use Good Launch to manage boat launches, slip reservations, rental bookings, and member communications at their facility.

2. Who Sends the Messages

SMS messages are sent by the marina operator — for example, BoatPort Bermuda or Après Sea Marina — using the Good Launch platform and infrastructure. The end business communicating with the customer is always the marina, not Good Launch or Patuxent Holdings directly. Good Launch is the software platform enabling the marina's communications.

3. How Customers Opt In

  1. A boat owner visits their marina's Good Launch registration page (for example: goodlaunch.io/join/boatport).
  2. They enter their name, boat details, and mobile phone number.
  3. Before submitting, they are presented with a required checkbox that reads:
    "I agree to receive SMS notifications from [Marina Name] via Good Launch, including launch status updates, booking confirmations, and marina alerts. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out."
  4. The checkbox is not pre-checked. If the customer does not opt in, they will not receive SMS notifications but can still use all marina services. Consent is optional and can be updated at any time in the member portal.
  5. The customer's phone number, consent language, and consent timestamp are recorded in the Good Launch database at the moment of submission.

3a. Opt-In Description (Twilio Verification)

The following language is used as the opt-in description in Good Launch's Twilio A2P registration and verification submissions:

SMS consent is optional and separate from account creation. Members who decline SMS can still fully use the platform. Only members who affirmatively check the opt-in box receive text messages.

5. Opt-Out

Customers may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. Good Launch processes STOP replies automatically and suppresses all future messages to that number for that marina. No further messages will be sent following a STOP reply, except a one-time confirmation that the opt-out has been processed.

Customers may also opt out by contacting their marina directly or by updating their notification preferences in their member portal at goodlaunch.io/my/[marina-slug].

6. Message Volume & Frequency

Message frequency varies by marina activity. Members typically receive 2–10 messages per month based on their usage of marina services. Broadcast messages are sent infrequently and only for operationally relevant information. Estimated total platform volume: approximately 1,000 messages per month across all marina tenants.

7. Sender Information

Messages are sent from phone numbers or alphanumeric sender IDs operated by Good Launch on behalf of the marina operator. Current sending numbers include +1 (213) 319-4663 and +1 (844) 569-7052. Additional numbers may be added as the platform expands to serve international marina operators. The platform uses Twilio as its SMS delivery provider.

8. ISV / Platform Disclosure

Good Launch operates as an Independent Software Vendor (ISV). Individual marina businesses are the end businesses sending communications to their members. Each marina's customers have consented to receive messages from that specific marina via the Good Launch platform. Patuxent Holdings, LLC (Good Launch) does not send unsolicited messages and does not share customer phone numbers between marina tenants.
